this is what happy looks like (edited)

i've read a book of the same name. but much of the plot of my young adult reading list is forgotten a week or two after finishing the book. so i wouldn't be able to tell you how the story went.

but this is what my happy looks like:
waking up on a weekday and taking a shower,
with all my favorite tunes filling the bathroom.
getting dressed in the morning,
with the sound of new songs recently discovered.
taking the bus home on a Tuesday
with no traffic on the main road.
catching up with old friends
over dinner or coffee on a random night.
late night fridays, when i'd go out
and see my favorite bands play my favorite songs,
and discover new ones i'd see again.
waking up at 6:30 am on a Saturday, no work, all play
seeing the bedside filled with books that are begging to be read.
a cup of coffee on a day to be spent lounging in my pajamas,
with my hair unwashed, and a forgotten shower
(if the day is a hot one, the shower shall be remembered).
cooking up a storm in the kitchen
for lunch, which is roughly at 1:00 pm,
and learning a new recipe.
going out on a Saturday evening to grab a bite
or a couple of beers with friends
or seeing a(n indie) movie alone.
running errands on a Sunday,
grocery shopping and household chores all day.

and the thing is, i have to constantly remind myself
that happy, my happy, looks just fine without you.
you were just that added sprinkle,
that made happy seem so much sweeter and brighter.
