So there’s this guy or girl you’ve been telling your friends about. He/she has been your crush for two-three semesters already. You’ve pointed him/her out to a couple of friends and they say they approve. They ask for his/her name; and they say they don’t know him/her(or if they know him/her, you start to interrogate your friends HAHAHA). They say he/she is kinda cute/handsome/pretty. You tell them he/she is weird/some trait you heard through the grapevine/well you just found out through stalking. :)) They ask you how you know and you tell them about the grapevine or the stalking. They ask you why you like him/her and you tell them that you saw him/her *insert something that interests you like play an instrument or read a book you like or just whatever*. They ask if you two really know each other and if you’ve actually spoken.
And you start to think about moments when you should already know each other. You know him/her through this friend and you’ve bumped into him/her countless times and you both know you’ve seen each other somewhere. You’ve been introduced to him/her a couple of times and just nodded or waved. You think about a conversation that should have taken place but didn’t. And you think of all possible conversations that never happened. And those moments when you semi-acknowledged each other but not really. It could have been a head twitch or a mannerism you don’t know about. You start to think of scenarios when you might just possibly talk but again, everything’s in your head.
But yeah. You’d love it if he/she were your friend. But the mystery, the thinking about having this semi-stranger as your happy crush, the anticipation, it excites you. This doesn’t mean that he/she is all you think about but you do notice that he/she has the habit of unexpectedly showing up, physically or just in your mind.
